ADVANCED COMMUNICATION SKILLS WORKSHOP I

The purpose of this two day workshop is to expand the participant’s ability to produce results in front of people. This experiential workshop is designed to create a safe environment for the student to learn the fundamentals of presentation and dynamic training delivery. Each day the participant has several opportunities to practice their communication skills from the front of the room. All the exercises are video taped and coaching will be provided.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Individuals who are required to present, consult and/or teach to both internal, as well as, customer audiences. This would include sales, sales support, consultants, engineers, instructors, seminar leaders and managers.

MAJOR COURSE DISTINCTIONS

  • Passion, Energy and Enthusiasm (A key factor in holding the attention of the audience.)
  • Point of Focus (Increases the ability of the trainer/presenter to stay present and not to lose focus.)
  • Body (How, when, where and why to appropriately move your body in front of the audience.)
  • Gestures/Video ( Creating visual images with your body that reinforce the learning.)
  • Inappropriate Gestures (Eliminating gestures or body movement which distracts or sends mixed messages to the audience.)
  • Verbal/Voice Skills (Vocal variation to avoid monotone delivery.)
  • Pauses (Effective use of silence.)
  • Fillers (Elimination of all “ums, ahs, okays, etc. from your verbal delivery.)
  • Participation & Rapport (Techniques to increase audience interaction.)
  • Adult Learning Theory (Introduction to the basic concepts of adult learning.)

PRE-COURSE

Prepare one 6 minute business module with no more than 2 main points.
