ADVANCED COMMUNICATION SKILLS WORKSHOP II

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Graduates of ACSW I

LENGTH OF WORKSHOP

Two days

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

1. Review the basic distinctions of ACSW I and answer questions.

2. Successfully structure a 15 minute Power Point presentation. This presentation may last longer because we want them to integrate at least
one flip chart, story and demo in the presentation plus get the audience
interacting. We especially want the participant to communicate the
customer problem from the customer point of view and to clearly build the WIIFM
statement.

3. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of Power Point. Learn how to make the
Power Point presentation compelling to the audience. Delivery and design
techniques. Give the students examples of slides they can use to
address the WIIFM of the key players.

4. The students will have another opportunity on the second day to do
another presentation. This presentation will integrate all the
distinctions we addressed. The engineer will be provided feedback from the
instructor and the group.

5. Structure/Data (Organizing and transitioning the flow of the presentation to maximize learning and retention.)

6. Visual Aids (Increase the effectiveness of your visual aids.)

7. Managing Resistance ( Understand the psychology of resistance and how to manage hecklers in the audience.)

8. The Art of Asking Questions (Addresses several techniques to manage the flow of communication in the room.)

9. Demonstration ( Use of demos as an effective teaching tool.)

10. Team Presentation (Creating effective team presentations.)

11. Sevreal times during the workshop the participant will have oppurtunities to stand up and deliever the presentations while being video taped and coached.
